NSTP Health Awareness Day strikes again! This time around, the day was not solely
about being health-conscious, but was also a fun affair as organised by the WakaLab
committee.
WakaLab handled the yoga booth; where NSTP staff was challenged to strike yoga poses
and hold it for a minimum of 10 seconds. People crowded the booth since it was opened
at 9.30 am with the staff very excited to try and amuse their colleagues by taking the
challenge. That’s not the only reason, though.
For every participant who was flexible enough to finish the challenge, they walked away
with many freebies from WakaLab such as cookies, shampoo, pen, tissue, and the most
wanted item was WakaLab’s pillows which are now very limited and only for those who
could meet the challenge of doing push-ups and sit-ups.
This ‘Can Tahan or Not Challenge’ sees of many yelps and groans from the crowd,
especially when the challenge was almost impossible to do if you are not a real yoga
practitioner. However, this being NSTP, most of the challenges were completed by the
staff, proving how healthy they are, or perhaps how delightfully ‘resilient’.
Of all the participants, Tan Sri Mohamed Jawhar was tough enough to do the sit-ups
and he even asked for more as the challenge given to him was very easy. Director of
Properties, Administration and Branch Operations, Abdul Wahab bin Mohamad also took
the challenge and did a priceless yoga pose.
After the yoga challenge, the participants filled in a lucky draw form to stand a chance to
win two iPod Nanos.
At 2.45pm, the staffs were gathered at the Public Space, waiting patiently for the iPod
winners’ announcement. Two lucky ones walked away with the iPod after many whose
names were announced did not turn up.
So who’s with us should NSTP conduct yoga classes for its staff as another way to keep
us healthy besides working out at the gym?
